PASTOR FRANKLIN WASHINGTON
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
The Reverend Franklin Washington is a native of Charleston, SC. He is the son of Peter and Barbara Washington. He is currently employed by the Marlboro County School District as a District Behavior Interventionist.
Reverend Franklin Washington is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Interdisciplinary Studies. He has also received a Certificate In Theology from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. He is a graduate of Liberty University. He obtained a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry Leadership.
Reverend Washington is a member of Royal Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Isaac Holt Jr. His pastoral call was at the age of 33 to New St. Matthew Baptist Church, Bennettsville, SC on Sunday, November 29, 2015. Rev. Washington Ordination/Installation was held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 by the Berea Association. Rev. Washington was licensed under the leadership of Rev. Olivia Brown at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church on May 30, 2004.
During the first year of Pastorate at New St. Matthew, the church became an even more loving place of worship. Under his leadership as Pastor, God has brought growth to St. Matthew. The church has added 3 new ministries, which include a young adult, hospitality, and nursing home ministry. Through his leadership the church went through different types of renovations, such as, sanctuary carpeted, engraved brick walk way project, and a landscaping project. The youth department of St. Matthew was also given the opportunity to take a vacation and also to pay respect to the Emmanuel AME in Charleston, SC. Since, his coming to St. Matthew, a total of 10 new members have joined the church, 7 of which he baptized.
Although Reverend Washington is 36 years old, he is a very anointed and humble young man who is greatly engaged in empowering the people to embrace change. Reverend Washington’s favorite scripture that he lives by is 3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
He is married to the former Ms. Tierra Fyall of North Charleston, SC. Together they have one daughter, Zion Jael Washington and the family currently resides in Florence, SC.
